Aisling Bea

Aisling was born on March 16 1984 at Kildare Ireland. She is one of Ireland's most successful and well-known comedians. The comedian appeared on QI together with Stephen Fry. Aisling Cliodhnadh O'Sullivan (born 16 March 1984), better known as Aisling Bea, is an Irish actress writer and comedian. Bea's career began in 2011, as a stand-up comedian, after appearing in small roles on Irish and British TV series starting in the year 2009. She was already regularly performing on sketch comedy shows as well as sitcoms. In 2012, following her was awarded an award at the Edinburgh Comedy Awards (ECA), she started to appear often in various panel programs. She has been a part of 8 Out of 10 Cats since 2016 and she is a popular contestant of the sequel 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown. She was the daughter of Brian as well as Helen O'Sullivan and has a sister who is named Sinead. In 2012 she was the only woman to be awarded the So You Think You Are Funny Award. Bea the name she was given as her maiden name, is a tribute to her father who passed away. Aisling O'Sullivan, whose real name is as Cliodhnadh Aisling, was born at Kildare town in County Kildare. Bea's father Brian died at the age of three. He was a horse veterinary. Bea wasn't told the details of how he passed away until she turned 13. Bea chose to stage her name Bea to pay tribute to her father who passed away. Bea also wrote an article for The Guardian on her family's suicide experience. Bea (and her sister Sinead) was raised in a home by Helen Moloney, a teacher and jockey trainer who was also a professional jockey. The family was racing and horse-related. When she was a child, Bea was a tour guide for the Irish National Stud however she realized at an early age that she was not keen on the sport of racing for a profession, but instead loved performing.
